pink stinks

Another post about pink? Yeah!
I am writing about pink again because I have read article in my favorite magazine about the pink stinks movement. Usually I agree, all right - I always agree with this magazine but this time they have gone a bridge too far! One of the girls who are the leaders of the group in Poland told a story about her daughter who was really excited in the shop when she saw a pink dress, grab it, and started to shout that she want to be a princess. Her mother explained that in real life we don't dress like princesses because they don’t exist!
First of all, princesses exist, every girl is a princess! Second thing there is noting as bad as being a best fiend of your own child! It is cool to have a good relationship with your own kid but every child needs to have friends in their age, and by not buying her this dress she is simply excluding her daughter from the groups of girls in her age. The only advantage is that her mother feel good about herself being so up to date!
Whole my life I was the smart girl, and smart girls don’t wear pink, that’s obvious. I can wear black (appropriate -so intellectual) brown, purple, red, blue, green but not pink.
Two months ago I went shopping with my friend, and I sow something absolutely silly- pink ballet skirt. I took it - just wanted to try it for fun. In the dressing room I look at myself, I was the same smart girl. But something changed. I had this small twinkle in the eyes, the twinkle of princess.
Yes I bought it , and everybody hates it, they say I get mad, wearing something as tacky and silly as it in the age of 24 but I don't care -I am just happy.
If the girl likes the dress ,she should have it -pink doesn’t make anyone less valuable, and look sometimes quite nice. I know the movement is about role models, but not everyone is as talented as Kathryn Bigelow, the role model of the month. Not everyone will become the women directors or writers but everyone deserve to be happy.
When I was in the kindergarten we had a costume ball all the girls was wearing a princess costumes, except me , my teacher asked why I am not in a princess costume. I said that real princess doesn't need to have a princess costume.

But if that makes them happy they can!

P.S. The water in the bath is realy pink! Is the medicine that doctor gave me last week!
